Welcome to my midwifery practice
Koru Home Birth

Welcome to Koru Home Birth. My name is Louise Wilby, an Independent Midwife living in West Kent. It is my aim to provide personalised, one-to-one care to women through what I firmly believe to be the amazing journey of pregnancy and birth.

"I couldn't have asked for better midwifery care than I received from you. You have been professional yet personal, informative and supportive and a joy to be around. Thank you so much."

"You made the birth of our son so very special: you will always have a special place in our family and in our hearts."

"You took such good care of us and you always gave me the confidence that I was doing ok."

I feel passionately about giving support to women and their families so that they can have as positive an experience as possible - and I believe that this is the best possible preparation for parenthood.

I've included a lot of information on the site that I hope you'll find useful whilst planning your pregnancy and birth. You can read more about independent midwives, about what I offer as part of my one-to-one care and about me.

Please explore the site and if you have any questions, do get in touch - I'd love to hear from you.

As an independent midwife I respect and honour a woman's ability to give birth in a supportive and safe environment.

Baby with brother The Koru is the traditional Maori fern frond. It is a symbol of new growth, new life, peace and tranquility. This is why Louise Wilby named her Independent Midwifery practice Koru.
